I'm not mukowski is the alter ego of Jochem Meijer (1982). During his study in Groningen he started making songs, but the idea of the perfect pop song stood in the way of their completion. After two years of living in The Hague the perfect pop song still hasn't been found, of course, but success has been made in the letting go of this somewhat strange ideal.

After a laptop kitchen table recording process with unforeseen obstacles (such as the facts that even muted televisions have the persuasiveness to make it to a record, and fridges hum as they please) this debut EP is the result. Keeping the principle 'make do with what you have' in mind, all songs have the acoustic guitar as starting point, only thickened to create a more remarkable sphere; sounding melancholic on the one hand, cheerful on the other.

Probably influenced by artists that seem to be stuck on his iPod (Gorillaz, Beatles, dEUS, Pavement, some traditional singer-songwriters, Elliott Smith and Badly Drawn Boy), but definitely with its own characteristic sound.
